About us

Sherston Village Hall is a charity (Charity Number 242845), managed by an elected committee of Trustees and Hall users on behalf of the entire village and environs. Its purpose is to provide a space for community activities, physical and social, for people of the local area. It does not try to make a profit, simply to cover its running and maintenance costs and support community groups.

The committee is dedicated to preserving the medieval tithe barn, used centuries ago for collecting the tithes due by local farmers to the church and Lord, while ensuring the hall’s ongoing use by the local community.

The committee is comprised of a team of volunteers from the village that manage the building maintenance, bookings, finances, and projects along with representatives of the community groups.

We have been well supported by the National Lottery, in our recent project to build the Butterfly Hall giving a wonderful new space and impressive entrance to the Village Hall.

Annual General Meetings are held every year and all residents of Sherston are warmly welcome to attend to meet the committee members and put forward any questions or suggestions.
