Pilates

Initially invented by Joseph Pilates to help rehabilitate and strengthen soldiers injured during World War I, and later tailored to work with ballet dancers, Pilates was considered both a mental and physical workout to allow the body to work to its full potential.

More simply put, Pilates is a low impact muscle strengthening workout focusing on core stability, flexibility and posture, and suitable for all.

My name is Saara Sharman.  I am a Chartered Physiotherapist who came to Pilates through its clinical links with rehabilitation and injury prevention.

I trained as an instructor through the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and have been teaching Pilates in Sherston for 10 years.  Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, so please get in touch for more information.
