How do I book the hall ?

What sizes are the halls ?

Dimensions for all the halls are given on the Facilities page under the headings for each hall

Do you have tables and chairs?

The village hall has a selection of tables and chairs, which are included for use in any hire.

The numbers of tables and chairs along with how many fit in each of the halls is shown on the Facilities page

How many people can fit in the hall?

Maximum numbers for each hall for different layouts are given in the Facilities page under each Hall

What facilities are available and do I have them included?

The village hall has a full range of facilities; a large kitchen, servery, and toilets.

Any hirer of the large hall can make use of these facilities.

Full use of the facilities may be limited for hirers of the small hall, dependant on whether the large hall has been booked by another party. Please ask when booking

Can I use the field?

The village hall benefits from a large field, that can be accessed from the large hall, or by walking around the building.

It can be included in any hall hire for a small fee, giving access for the duration of your hire period.

Costs for including the field are given with all the other pricing on the Facilities page

Can I have a bouncy castle?

Yes, we allow bouncy castles when hiring the large hall.

Additionally a bouncy castle can be placed on the village hall field, which is available for a small additional fee , giving access for the duration of your hire period.

Costs for adding the field to your booking along with all other pricing is available on the Facilities page of this website.

A bouncy castle would not fit within the small or butterfly halls.

Can I serve alcohol?

Yes, you can serve alcohol during your hire of the hall, provided it is offered free of charge.

Should you wish to charge for alcohol via a paid bar, a Temporary Events Notice (TENS) would be required.

This can be obtained via Wiltshire Council for a fee. A limited number of TENS are available per venue per year, so please let our Booking Secretary know if you would like a paid bar.

What time does my party have to finish at night?

As the village hall is located in the centre of a residential community, we ask that hirers are considerate of local residents when leaving the premises at night.

Music must stop at 11pm

All hirers must exit the venue by Midnight.

If your hire period ends today, you must give yourself enough time to clean up, before you exit at Midnight.

How will I get into the hall for my booking?

 Our booking secretary, or a member of the village hall committee will meet you at the hall to provide access for your booking.

Am I able to put on classes, shows or events at the village hall?

The village hall is always open to enquiries for new classes, shows or events.

Does the village hall have WiFi ?

Yes the Sherston Village Hall has WiFi.

Connection passwords for free access are issued by the Bookings Secretary for confirmed bookings that require it
